Welcome to Casa Amal, a timeless architectural gem nestled in Dubai’s vibrant Al Wasl neighborhood. Drawing from the rich heritage of the 1970s Arabian modernist era, Casa Amal embodies the essence of the region’s architectural renaissance. This stunning residence is a celebration of traditional orientalism, Arabian modernism, and the philosophy of slow luxury.
Designed by the esteemed Melbourne-based design practice, The Stella Collective, Casa Amal is a masterful blend of sandy hues, intricate perforations, and luminous spaces. Every detail has been carefully curated to harmonize with its surroundings, reflecting a deep respect for the historic land it occupies.
Casa Amal’s design pays homage to the Arabian architectural revival of the 1970s. The striking custom clay arched breeze blocks on the facade, a contemporary twist on traditional mashrabiya, provide both ventilation and a mesmerizing play of light and shadow throughout the day. Inside, perforated travertine walls and honeycomb doors invite nature to seamlessly integrate with the design, enhancing the overall experience.
The residence skillfully balances linear architecture with gracefully curving walls and five-meter-high arches, nodding to Moorish influences. “We selected a traditional render paired with Italian travertine for the facade to create a monolithic appearance that evolves with the daylight. Additionally, strategic greenery enhances the sanctuary-like ambiance,” explains Hana Hakim, Principal of The Stella Collective.

Perfect for illuminating external staircases, Sand_R provides clear and effective visibility by marking each step with a soft, functional glow.
Crafted from durable brass and featuring a round, screen-printed diffuser, Sand_R radiates light evenly in all directions. This thoughtful design not only ensures safety but adds a touch of sophistication to any space. The powerLED source is encased in a resin cover, offering robust protection against sand, dust, and weather conditions.
