Frantoio Centumbrie

The place where the material of the heart is worked

A land, Umbria, and the history of two ancient families that together cross a hundred places. Hence Centumbrie, which is not simply a name but a place that conceals within itself a deep bond with the territory, sealed through the creation of a real site where the "material of the heart" is worked. Centumbrie is in fact a state-of-the-art mill, innovative and technological, where high quality extra virgin olive oils are produced; a mill that also houses a bakery-bakery-bar, where the organic flours used in the recipes of the baked goods come to life; an evo bistro, located inside the mill, where Umbrian cuisine meets unusual and exotic flavours, and where the absolute protagonist is the oil.

OASIS OF LIGHT IN THE GREEN HEART OF ITALY

Centumbrie was built on the basis of a very extensive and articulated project signed by architect Gianmarco Balucani, who designed a real site, perfectly integrated in the surrounding Umbrian countryside. The result is a complex structure composed of several buildings, with high energy efficiency and electricity supply from renewable sources: water waste is reduced to a minimum during the oil production phases; hazelnuts (waste from olive processing) are used as self-heating for the structures; electricity is produced by transferring pomace to a biodigester. Even the materials used, such as corten steel (which, with its particular burnished colour tones, becomes one with the countryside), were carefully chosen to minimise environmental and landscape impact. Perfectly in line with this philosophy was the lighting study developed by Prait, an integrated engineering company that carries out plant engineering and lighting design, which saw the use of numerous professional solutions by Linea Light Group. The main objective of the lighting project, both indoor and outdoor, was to emphasise the architectural aspects of the buildings that make up Centumbrie and, inside, to illuminate the work areas and the hospitality areas with a punctual, soft, elegant light according to need. Thus, for the two rooms of the Evo Bistrot, the Gypsum Cell downlight was chosen with a black finish and 9 power LEDs able to ensure a soft, elegant, dimmable light to create very suggestive atmospheres. For the patisserie-bar, Optus was installed, again with a black finish and mounted suspended on an electrified track. The perfect luminaire that highlights the products displayed on the counter. Specifically for the work area inside the crusher, Flamp's pendant luminaires guarantee maximum visual comfort and safety. They are equipped with new-generation diodes with bright, uniform light and are also fitted with a heat dissipation system and overheating protection for long life, high efficiency and high performance. Finally, in the office area, LV54 is the versatile and practical downlight, perfect for lighting large spaces. Outside, the lighting design saw the installation of Periskop for the green areas surrounding the various buildings, the Peak bollard for the outdoor area of the bar-bakery area, and Mini Parkers to emphasise the rear perimeter of the buildings and also the area around the silos used for flour collection. Alux in the ceiling version was instead installed to illuminate the outdoor canopy where the tractors unload the freshly harvested olives. Great care was also taken to emphasise the architectural details of the walls of the buildings themselves. Thus, the Archiline profile was used to illuminate the perimeter and also the sign on a reinforced concrete wall, in line with the industrial style of the entire site. The Suelo uplight was used to highlight the different walking areas and also the perimeter around the building. Finally, Cicada, the wall light in a single-emission version installed at the entrance of the bar for its diffused light, and Alcor, the IP67 recessed uplight with extremely small dimensions, used for the perimeter of the main entrance, the Evo Bistro showroom and the perimeter of the bar-bakery.
