Eurospar, La Cooperativa
The restyling of an icon
A point of sale that has always been a reference point in the Cortina area. It is the Eurospar, associated with Aspiag Service, the dealer for the Triveneto and Emilia Romagna areas of the Despar brand, which occupies the mezzanine floor of La Cooperativa di Cortina, the most important department store in the Dolomites.
Organised over an area of 850 square metres on the mezzanine floor, the Eurospar sales outlet has been completely redesigned thanks to a restyling project carried out with the aim of creating an environment that starts from the territory and represents it at its best. For this reason, both materials, such as larch wood, and architectural elements, such as the "Crosèra" and "l'Arfa", were used, recalling the Ampezzo territory and its ancient uses.
The result is a shop where tradition and innovation meet and tell a new story, conveying to the visitor the strong bond with the community and making him feel at home.

.zipProper lighting in retail
The Eurospar shop was the subject of a very careful and articulated lighting study, aimed primarily at enhancing all the rooms and at the same time giving the feeling of openness to the outside world and natural light. The shop is in fact located on the mezzanine floor of La Grande Cooperativa and has no windows or external lighting points.
The solutions chosen by the Linea Light Group team with Aspiag Service, which was commissioned to carry out the restyling project, therefore had the objective of creating lighting that was consistent throughout the shop, emphasising the different zones and sales areas, in full compliance with the regulations required for working environments.
To highlight the fresh produce in the fruit and vegetable, butchery and delicatessen areas, the Optus projector proved to be the winning solution thanks to its high colour rendering, which allows the quality of the products on display to be emphasised.
Between the aisles of the shelves, on the other hand, it was decided to use Trunking system, the LED continuous-row lighting system that guarantees uniform, glare-free lighting, as well as high energy savings and very low maintenance. The version used, in particular, mounts a bi-asymmetric 4000 k and dimmable optic, which allows the light to be distributed on the vertical of the shelf, highlighting the products on display, avoiding glare and at the same time expanding the visitor's walking space.
Recessed into the ceiling along the entire perimeter of the shop, the linear Paseo element expands the surface area and gives greater depth to the environment thanks to a wallwasher effect.
Ad hoc lighting has been designed specifically for the entrance and work areas. To welcome the visitor and give a sense of harmony to the pathway, the scenographic suspended Tour, with different diameters; for the reception area, on the other hand, Baton was chosen in a suspended version for its soft light beam; for the cash desks and treadmills, Rollip was selected, which guarantees precise lighting, while Loro, the downlight with retracted optics and a high protection index, was recessed into the ceilings of the areas reserved for cutting fresh products.
Finally, Box and Mywhite for the stairwells.
The Ribbon LED strip in particular proved to be the perfect solution to meet the challenge of impactful lighting that would give visitors comfort. Inside the shop, in fact, in two particular areas, it was necessary to provide a targeted lighting intervention that saw the designer and the Linea Light Group team working side by side.
In the first area, the entrance area, where it was necessary to create a connection with the part dedicated to the wine shop, which was a detached environment from the rest of the point of sale, the creation of a false ceiling and lighting created ad hoc were the key to achieving the objective. The high-impact end result is already visible at the reception and from the stairs. The shop's logo, which depicts an Edelweiss, was specially recreated in the false ceiling and illuminated with an RGB Ribbon LED strip with remote control to create different scenic effects throughout the day. On arrival, the visitor is welcomed into a familiar and comfortable environment.
An additional dimmable 4000 k Ribbon was also used inside the shop to backlight the Barrisol sheets used to make the two artificial skylights located in the fruit and vegetable and delicatessen areas. In fact, the intention was to bring additional brightness inside the shop which, being on the mezzanine floor, has no windows and no natural light. A winning strategy that in this way gives the shop a feeling of airiness and openness to the surrounding area of the Dolomites.
