Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel
Landscape lighting for outdoor excellence
A jewel of 1960s construction, the Astir Palace hotel was acquired by the Four Seasons hotel chain. The acquisition has breathed new life into a building that has written the history of Greek tourism in the name of elegance and refinement. A structure, divided into the two buildings Arion and Nafsika, which allows visitors to live in a true oasis of pleasure and well-being. A landmark on the Athenian coast where the value of the past has been combined with the most modern demands for relaxation.

.zipAN EDEN OF LIGHT AND WELL-BEING
The renovation project of the Astir Palace, on the beautiful Aegean coast, was aimed at revitalising a hotel that was in vogue in the 1960s. A diamond that found new light thanks to the virtuous synergy of several designers, including L&DG Lighting Architects, who were able to bring out the beauty and value of the past in a completely renovated structure. A complex of buildings, swimming pools, bars and restaurants where lighting plays a fundamental role, highlighting the peculiarities of the architecture and the outdoor space, which accompanies guests towards the gates of the paradise of relaxation. The outdoor lighting project involved various Linea Light Group lighting solutions, which together created a dreamlike atmosphere for the hotel guests. Linea Light Group participated in this landscape lighting project with a wide range of products, in both standard and customised versions, to emphasise the outdoor space to the maximum. Present throughout the location we find Joe, chosen to illuminate streets and pedestrian paths within the park. With a low, well-distributed light, they have been positioned on both sides of the streets in an alternating manner, to achieve maximum illumination. In a customised version we find Alcor and Dans, used for the stairways and small paths that accompany guests in the various areas of the complex. The vegetation is also illuminated. Small plants are emphasised by the Shaker uplight, while trees are depicted within the landscape thanks to high-performance products. One of these is the Suelo uplight in a dark light version, used for all the maritime pines. On the other hand, the Periskop uplight, attached to the trees by means of a fixing kit, projects light downwards, creating a wonderful contrast with the Suelo uplight. Continuing towards the entrance of the structure, we find Orma, also in a dark light version, used to illuminate both the columns at the entrance and part of the façade. The profile of the latter is instead outlined by Rubber. The same product is also used to highlight the outdoor steps. For the material walls, the choice fell on Archiline, which provides an unparalleled light/shadow effect on all surfaces. Even the water areas were enhanced by light, thanks to the product Flash, which illuminates the lettering immersed in water. Dirigo, in a one-metre version, was instead chosen to illuminate the car stations inside the structure's car parks. Closing the circle, the Prolamp projector illuminated the tennis courts where light plays a central role for an ideal playing experience.
