Parkhaus Zechen Zollverein
For Germany, the Ruhr area has been synonymous with coal for many centuries. From the industrial revolution onwards, throughout the 20th century, this region saw an industry based on the processing of mineral resources flourish, driving the country's entire economy. The closure of the mines in the 1990s marked the end of the productive era, but the beginning of a cultural redevelopment that led to the development of the tertiary sector. The emblem of this ‘new era’ is the Zeche Zollverein, also known as the Eiffel Tower of the Ruhr. The first industrial structure in operation from 1851 to 1986, today a cultural centre designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Custom Solutions
All products used for the Parkhaus Zeche Zollverein were supplied in a customised version to meet the specific requirements of the location. Two are the protagonists of this project. Archiline and Maxi Tube.
Archiline finds its place in the false ceiling of the under parking area. Chosen because of its powerful integrated glare-free lighting, this product is the light pathway needed for user orientation. Installed in a customised version (cable lengths, frame and optics created ad hoc), it has an integrated DALI driver that makes it functional. Maxi Tube, on the other hand, lives both underground and above ground. Positioned as cove lighting, it provides efficient and discreet illumination while occupying very little space both around the exposed structure (with a fiery red connotation) and in the car park (3000K). Maxi Tube was also supplied in a customised version and with integrated DALI.
