Founded about a century ago, in 1915, as one of the first film venues in Moscow under the name ARS Electrotheatre, after the revolution it became Konstantin Stanislavsky's opera and drama studio, changing its name to Stanislavsky Drama Theatre to assume its current name shortly afterwards. In mid-2013, with the position of artistic director assigned to Boris Yukhananov, a complete reconstruction of the building's old interior was undertaken, creating a new multifunctional platform not only for theatre but also for exhibitions, conferences and performance art.

The Stanislavsky Electrotheatre in Moscow recently opened its new premises with the ambition of becoming a global directing centre.
Fundamentally, the Electrotheatre is based on the concept of transformable spaces and open internal processes. Movable barriers divide technical zones and audience areas: the functions of these zones can be interchangeable.
The emotional impact in a theatrical performance is also strongly dictated by the light: the high efficiency and the swivelling and positioning characteristics of the Angular track-mounted projectors with LED Array source (50W) are ideal to follow the lighting variations according to the scenes. In addition, Vos RJ downlights and Anton spotlights with 15° optics were installed to focus attention on certain details.
