Excelsior Hotel Gallia

The Excelsior Hotel Gallia reflects the glittering and sophisticated essence of Milan.

Inaugurated on 29 February 1932 and reopened in 2015, the luxurious hotel, known as the Palazzo Gallia, was completely renovated by architect Marco Piva, who wanted to ‘create a place linked to the history of excellence of the city of Milan, a special place that integrates and enhances the values of architecture, design, costume and fashion.’ Starting from an authentic jewel of Belle Époque architecture, Marco Piva was able to give life to an ambitious project, a perfect combination of past and present, respecting the historical and original Déco façade and building, alongside it, a hypermodern wing made of steel and glass.

The best suite in the world

Among the hotel's 235 rooms, there are 53 suites, including the prestigious Katara, a quintessential example of luxury and elegance. With its 1,000 square metres, housing two terraces, four bedrooms and a private spa, the Katara ranks at the top in Italy and the world, awarded ‘World's Leading Hotel Suite’ at the 2015 World Travel Awards.
Linea Light Group products were used to light part of this majestic room and the restaurant on the seventh floor, confirming the contribution of Made in Italy to the Milanese hotel.

Projectors model Pound_1 with a high colour rendering ArrayLED source have been specially modified to allow their installation in the restaurant's ceiling grooves, resulting in faithful colour reproduction and no light distortion.
The Shiseido Spa, a wellness area extended between the sixth and seventh floors, is characterised by extraordinary beams of light and modern equipment, in perfect assonance with the quality and experience of Shiseido, offering moments of absolute relaxation in the heart of Milan. As for the lights, the ‘starry sky’ scenic effect created with spotlights from the Ture family is striking.
