Lutech Group: The New Headquarters

Hybrid working of the future

A new headquarters for the Lutech Group, a leader in Italy and a European player in ICT services and solutions.
In Cinisello Balsamo, developing within a five-storey building with a total area of 12,000 square metres, the headquarters was conceived with the aim of creating an environment oriented towards the hybrid working of the future, with 1,000 workstations available for employees and freelancers in turn, in addition to numerous shared spaces distributed across 30% of the total area. These physical spaces combine the needs of office life with the new dynamics of smart working and co-working in the companies of today, in the post-Covid era. This constantly interconnected location features specific spaces for meetings and open areas conceived as forums to stimulate spontaneous interaction between people. A place that favours interaction, collaboration and the sharing of ideas. And last but not least, a sustainable place.

Sustainable lighting

Bearing the signature of the Milanese firm Solids, with B&P as the General Contractor, the leitmotif of the entire project was sustainability. This was pursued from the outset by the entire group and, in particular, by the Project Manager Mirko Bovo, the Procurement & Facility Management Director for Lutech. Starting from the selection of the suppliers and the materials used, the focus was on natural solutions, whose life and production cycle were low impact, if not even zero-emission.
In the wake of this objective, the project relies on the use of wood, insulation and green paints, in addition to the inclusion of over 1,100 plants positioned within the environments to contribute to offsetting the CO2 emissions produced. And finally, there are the lighting bodies from the Linea Light Group catalogue that stand out thanks to their high performance and low environmental impact.

This comprehensive lighting operating saw the installation of numerous luminaires with the aim of creating comfortable atmospheres, where the illumination not only emphasised the environments and architectural elements but was also of value in terms of the well-being of individuals and the environment.

Great attention is thus paid to the lighting comfort both in the open-space offices and in the transit areas, where the Rollip linear profile has been fitted in two different models, both able to guarantee a homogeneous and diffused light. The offices have the suspended and double version with 7035 emission, whilst the corridors are lit by the version 35 recessed ceiling light.
The Loro_Q was also chosen for the transit areas, being the downlight of the Loro family that is perfect for installation in false ceilings with very little room for manoeuvring, thanks to its great versatility and minimal and discreet aesthetics that render it suitable for any type of environment.

For the numerous meeting rooms that characterise the entire building, the architectural firm’s choice fell to a range of solutions, all united by a minimalist denominator – a modern design with elegant and discreet lines. In this way, there is an alternation of Diphy_Icon, the suspension version in the extra-large size inspired by the Diphylleya Grayi, a very particular Asian flower whose petals, upon contact with water, become transparent; the Opti-Line suspension light with its characteristic elliptical form utilised in the rectangular meeting rooms to recall the elliptical-shaped ceiling; and, the Gypsum Cell downlight in the version with 3 power LEDs, being versatile and easy to install, hence why it has also been used in some of the service areas.

The elegance of La Mariée, with a transparent finish, has been selected for lighting both the so-called phone booths (being the spaces reserved for meetings, brain-storming, and the like), where it is present both in the table version and as a suspension light, and for the reception area at the entrance where, in the table version, it helps create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere.

E molte altre...

In the break rooms and in the management waiting area, the Tour luminaire was installed in both a suspended and ceiling-mounted version, the latter with differing diameters to create concentric circles with combined emission (downwards and inwards) to give a bright dynamic effect.
To complete the indoor lighting project of the offices, the Poe Plus suspension light and the Lama floor lamp are present in the meeting rooms within the managerial offices, and finally the Demì suspension light is located in the CEO’s office – its transparent dome disappears when switched off to become a piece of the furniture with great charm to all effects.

Specially dedicated to the 1,100 plants located throughout the building (and therefore perfectly in line with the sustainability objectives pursued with the project), the architecture studio envisaged the use of single-emission suspension lights from the Chlorophyll Bulbo collection.
With a minimalist design, the body of the luminaire in a terracotta colour has a finish achieved by lacquering whilst the acrylic glass diffuser with a satin finish is the solution that favours the growth of the greenery in poorly-lit areas or environments without sunlight, fitting perfectly into the context and illuminating in a discreet and effective way.

Finally, the operation was concluded by the Fylo+ Surface_2 dual-emission linear profile fitted both in the phone booths and in the service areas, ideal for embellishing the spaces through an evocative play of lights. The Maxi Tube tubular LED lamp, rather, is ideal for the commercial and industrial areas and is used to illuminate the underground car park.
