#Wellworking with light
A protected work ‘nest’, carefully designed down to the smallest detail, based on the philosophy of #wellworking, the cornerstone of the mission of Kwerk, the co-working format created by architect-designer Albert Angel together with Franco-British entrepreneur Lawrence Knights.
A temple of art and culture, more than a workspace in the traditional sense of the term, furnished with style and elegance, where people and companies can find the right creativity and give life to exciting projects and ideas. The new Madeleine headquarters, in particular, housed in an eight-storey office building, a ground floor with entrance and lounge area and a basement reserved for fitness rooms, in line with the Latin saying ‘mens sana in corpore sano’, is located on Boulevard Malesherbes, one of the most beautiful and effervescent districts of the French capital, with offices, luxury shops and even small tailor's shops that make made-to-measure clothes.
The space, with its intimate and cosy atmosphere like a luxury hotel, contrasts with the liveliness of the surrounding district. The materials used, which are strictly natural, have been handcrafted with great care and attention and emphasised with a specially elaborated lighting design using various professional solutions.
The result is a co-working space with a unique and spectacular design, where the watchword is the well-being of its visitors.
Lighting, especially within workplaces, is a fundamental aspect that can even have an influence on people's creativity and thus on the final results.
The complex lighting project for the Kwerk Madeleine headquarters was developed by the Linea Light Group team in close collaboration with co-founder architect Albert Angel. Like the previous project at the Tour First headquarters, it involved the use of various professional solutions, primarily Oh! Mars, the 14 cm spheres in the ceiling version (1,500 in all, to give rhythm to most of the spaces, from the entrance to some meeting rooms, up to the passage areas on all floors) in the classic reddish colour that recalls the planet or the ‘African suns’ as defined by the architect designer himself. Or like Giotto, the downlight with compact dimensions, also used in the entrance area in combination with the Oh! Mars with the aim of creating a starry sky and giving visitors, from their arrival, a decidedly evocative and relaxing atmosphere, in line with the #wellworking philosophy strongly desired by the two founders.
Specifically for the lobby area, which is furnished with great care and elegance, the Vos downlights were chosen, with a black or white flange and colour temperature of approximately 2700K, which blends perfectly into the ambience, emphasising it and at the same time ensuring high visual comfort, and Optus_EX, which can be swivelled and pulled out from the ceiling, with its extremely compact shape, making it a versatile solution suitable for lighting different areas.
For the meeting and seminar rooms, the Linea Light Group team opted for the Rada_Q indirect emission recessed spotlight, which provides visual comfort while avoiding glare.
Finally, in the fitness rooms located in the basement, there is both the linear Rollip element used in an alternating manner, almost as if to create a chessboard on the ceiling, for uniform and diffuse lighting, and the Fylo+ lead strip with RGB, installed on the ceiling in the Yoga room with the aim of creating spectacular coloured lighting effects depending on the moment.
